The Kezia Fingerless Mitts pattern is now available for purchase on Ravelry!!! This amazing pattern is designed by a close friend of mine and all proceeds are being donated to the Fitzgerald Cancer Fund

This pattern was named for Kezia Fitzgerald and is published in memory of her daughter Saoirse, who on December 13th, 2011 at only 18 months old, lost her battle against Neuroblastoma. Kezia herself is currently in remission from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. You can read Kezia’s blog New Mom…New Cancer to find out more or donate directly.

Won’t you join us for a KAL (knit-a-long) over in my Ravelry group: Another Crafty Girl & Friends?  See you there!!

Sheena Shawl - by Jacquelyn Ridzy (FO)

This shawl was a nightmare to knit. The pattern had a number of errors that I won’t get into here but it was quite frustrating and thus I am super happy that it is off the needles and out of my mind for a while. I knit this up with my very own yarn in my Bulbasaur (green) and Chocolate & Caramel (brown) colorways.  Blocked out this has a wonderful drape and I know I will get quite a bit of use out of it this Fall.

Stephen West - Mystery KAL (FO)

I finished Westknits Mystery Shawl KAL 2011: Earth & Sky (pattern (ravelry) - my project page!!!  I actually bound off a week ago but finally blocked and wove in the ends last yesterday.  I will probably be gifting this to my mother for Christmas.  The colors aren’t really me, I was mainly trying to find colors in my stash that went well together.

I’m pretty pleased that I was able to overcome my fear of intarsia.  I don’t think there will be any sweaters with large teddy bears on them in my future but I like the geometry of this shawl and am looking forward to trying more of this technique in the future.

Knit with Sunshine Yarns - Classic Sock in Raccoon Hollow, Rose Quartz and Red Hots on size 4 US needles.  Red Hots did bleed a bit during it’s soak so Rose Quartz is now more rosy, oh well. :(

Ysolda talks about her design process, self-publishing, and her new sweater book!

Isn’t she adorable!! I’m currently knitting my first pattern by her and I’m of course, totally loving it.  It will be sad to gift it away later this year.

Got bored today so I made this.  I kinda love it.  I only have a couple more bare skeins left to dye. :(  I need to look into buying a cone of yarn, as it will be more cost efficient…but more labor intensive as I’ll have to divide the cone up somehow.  I wonder if anyone has some tips/tricks for that.  Off to the internets!
Oh, this skein still needs a name.

After many failed attempts to dye an orange yarn that I loved.  It finally happened.  Dyed these up for a Dye it Yourself blankie swap on Ravelry that I’m hosting.  I’m calling this juicy colorway, The Last Days of Summer.
