Fitzgerald Cancer Fund
One of my dear friends Kezia Fitzgerald, who I met in college, is going through a very unique situation. In January she was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and then just a few months later in May, she and her husband found out that their 13-month-old daughter has Neuroblastoma. It’s been a very rough time for the three of them emotionally and financially. Kezia is such a strong person, her will power has always amazed me. To go through all of this treatment herself and to be so strong and positive for her little girl is truly astounding. Oh and did I mention, she’s younger than me!! Only 26 years old. Kezia is nearing the end of her treatments but her little girl, Saoirse has a long road ahead of her.
Their story has been covered by channels 5 and 7 news but I’d love to offer them more support so I’m sharing it with you here.
They have a donate page set up on their facebook page here as well as on the blog she’s started: New Mom…New Cancer. They both go to the same place. If any of you donate $10.00 (US) or more you will be entered into a drawing to win a skein of my yarn. If a lot of donations are made I will be increasing the amount of prizes given. Kezia will be emailing me a list of those who donate and I will be contacting winners through their email address.
In order to be entered into the drawing you will need to state that you found them through Another Crafty Girl at time of payment. Here’s a few notes on how to do that: After you’ve typed in the donation amount, you should find yourself on a review page. On that page there should be a “+Message to the Fitzgeralds” link and if you click that a little box should pop up where you can type and let them that you found them through “Another Crafty Girl.” If you miss this step I have no way of verifying that you’ve donated. Sorry if this is confusing.
Also, starting now and running through August 13th I will be donating 15% from all my sales at Another Crafty Girl to their fund.
